Sit back. Leave the dig to us.

We supply the pool. An independent, QBCC-licensed pool builder in your area installs it. You get people who know your ground, your council and your access, and one written, itemised quote.

Who does what

Opal Pools and your builder

Opal Pools

Helps you choose the shell and colour, orders it from Tranquility, books delivery and stays your point of contact.

Your licensed builder

Visits the site, quotes in writing, arranges the certifier and any engineering, and carries out the dig, crane lift, plumbing, backfill, bond beam and handover under their QBCC licence.

Lane by lane

What happens, in order

  1. Site visit

Yard, soil, slope, crane access, services in the ground and your budget.

  2. Written quote

Itemised: shell, delivery, crane, excavation, plumbing, equipment, engineering, fencing and finishes.

  3. Approvals

The certifier approves the pool and fence. A warning sign goes up before work starts.

  4. Lift-in day

Dig, base, crane lift, plumbing, then backfill while the pool fills, and the bond beam.

  5. Handover

Fence certified before filling past 300 mm, equipment start-up, walk-through and warranty papers.

Your protections

What Queensland law gives you

For domestic building work over $3,300, which covers any pool install, your builder must follow these rules.

A written contract

With a QBCC Contract Information Statement and a five-business-day cooling-off period.

Home warranty insurance

Compulsory for domestic building work over $3,300. Ask for the certificate.

Limited deposits

No more than 10% for work up to $20,000, and no more than 5% for work of $20,000 or more.

Check the licence

Look up any builder's licence and history on the QBCC register before you sign.

See your yard from above

Through our partner company MÒR Mapping, we can capture your site from the air and make a 3D model of the yard. It helps you choose a shape, place the pool and plan crane access.

A planning aid, not a boundary survey. Boundaries and setbacks are confirmed by your builder and certifier.
